FAQ
Frequently asked questions about VoIP numbers
Local and national numbers, international, porting, routing, SMS-enabled options and business call tracking.
What types of VoIP numbers can Bluehubcloud provide in Australia?
Local/geographic numbers (02, 03, 07, 08), national 13/1300 numbers, toll-free 1800 numbers, mobile/SMS-enabled numbers, and international virtual numbers – all managed through the Bluehubcloud PBX admin portal.
What do numbers cost?
A local number is A$0.50 a month, a 1300 or 1800 number is A$30 a month, and a mobile number is A$12.50 a month – all ex GST. For 1300 and 1800 numbers, carrier rates apply to inbound calls and are quoted by volume once expected call volumes are confirmed. International numbers are quoted.
Can I choose a specific area-code number (02, 03, 07, 08)?
Yes. You can choose a specific area-code number to give your business a local presence in any Australian city or region.
Can we port our existing business numbers?
Yes. Bluehubcloud manages porting end-to-end. Simple ports are free and typically complete in 1–5 business days, most within 2–3, with no downtime during the transition; complex ports are quoted up front. Keep your old service active until we confirm the port is complete – a cancelled number can’t be ported.
What do you need from us to port a number?
A recent invoice from your current provider, because ports are approved on an exact match: the account holder name as your provider has it, the service address on the account, the account number or service ID (often the broadband account number on a bundled service), any PIN your provider uses, and the full list of numbers. You sign a Port Authority Form and we lodge and track it.
What’s the difference between a 1300 number and an 1800 number?
A 1300 number incurs a local call charge for the caller, while an 1800 number is toll-free – the business covers the entire cost of the call. Both are A$30 a month ex GST, with inbound carrier rates quoted by volume once expected call volumes are confirmed.
Can VoIP numbers route to queues or AI call handling?
Yes. Numbers can be configured to route to teams, queues, IVR menus or AI Call Assistant flows depending on your setup. Point any number at an extension, ring group, call queue, IVR menu, voicemail or the AI Call Assistant, and change it whenever you like; time-and-day, area-based, holiday and CRM-based rules can change the destination automatically.
Are mobile numbers SMS-enabled for two-way texting?
Many mobile number setups support inbound and outbound SMS, including two-way messaging, depending on provisioning. A virtual mobile number sends and receives SMS and MMS from Communicator on every device, can be shared by a whole team, and is what automations and the AI Call Assistant text from. Outbound SMS is A$0.15 per message ex GST.
Can we present outbound caller ID from our business number?
Yes. Outbound caller ID can be set so your business number is always displayed – improving recognition and answer rates. Choose your main line, a 1300 number or a local number per site, and keep it accurate on transferred and parked calls.
How do we manage numbers and routing changes over time?
Everything is managed from the Bluehubcloud PBX admin interface – assignments, routing rules and dial plans update in real time. Or ask us and we’ll make the change for you.
Can one number ring several sites or teams?
Yes. A number can ring a hunt group across sites, split by time of day, area or caller, overflow to another team or an AI Call Assistant, and fail over to another destination for disaster recovery.
